Bug Report: Misalignment of Vocal and Instrumental Tracks

 Subject: Bug Report: Misalignment of Vocal and Instrumental Tracks from SUNO Web Interface to Ableton Live

Description:

I encountered an issue with the SUNO web interface where the alignment of vocal and instrumental tracks appears audibly correct in the web interface, but the exported tracks do not maintain this alignment when imported into Ableton Live. This requires manual adjustments in the DAW to match the tracks as they were in the SUNO interface.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Use the SUNO web interface to align a vocal track with an instrumental track. The alignment is audibly correct within the SUNO interface.
  2. Export the aligned tracks as STEMS from the SUNO web interface.
  3. Import the exported STEMS (vocal and instrumental tracks) into Ableton Live.
  4. Observe that the tracks are misaligned in Ableton Live, necessitating manual adjustments to the vocal track to match the instrumental track, despite the correct audible alignment in SUNO.

Expected Behavior:

The exported audio files (STEMS) should maintain the same audible alignment as set in the SUNO web interface, with no additional adjustments needed when imported into a DAW like Ableton Live.

Actual Behavior:

Upon importing the exported STEMS into Ableton Live, the vocal track is not aligned with the instrumental track as it was audibly in the SUNO interface. Manual intervals or timing adjustments are required to achieve the correct synchronization.

Impact:

This bug affects the workflow by adding extra steps for manual alignment in the DAW, which should not be necessary if the tracks are properly aligned in the SUNO interface.

Environment:

  • DAW: Ableton Live 12
  • SUNO Web Interface (Latest version as of September 2024)
  • OS: Sonoma macOS 14.6.1
